How long have you not sat down and really listened well to your favourite song?.... Looking closer to the patterns in life reveals that every wave has a peak then a crash, just as music has peaks and valleys within the waves of sound, but when the music is over, nature always has a way of beginning a new song again!

..."When we listen to a song, the journey is what creates the experience, yet there are those who like to slice up the notes into bits and pieces, and proclaim that as the musical experience. Same goes for our spiritual experience, many will slice up our being into bits and pieces, from the events of our life to the phases of our evolution.

Starting as a baby, we then become the child, then the teen, then the adult, followed by old age, but these are not snapshots of our existence, but is the flow of our being in motion just like music. And when the music is over, it is not wise to cling to the notes, which are the memories of our experience, for as the Buddha says, suffering begins to fill the heart in the one who clings to past moments.

When something good comes our way we tend to want to keep it forever, but looking at the patterns of universal nature shows us that nothing lasts forever, its not about being right or wrong when the good is removed from our circle, for judgment only keeps us from embracing the truth of our own nature.

If all we did was listen to our favorite song over and over again, it would eventually lose its magic and become flat and boring, for it is the variety and spontaneity in life which keeps us enriched and alive. Not unlike our breath, if we cling to it to hard we only end up losing it all, for it is in the surrender, the process of release, in which we find our inner peace and harmony, just as we surrender our spirit to the flow of the waves in music.

Looking closer to the patterns in life reveals that every wave has a peak then a crash, just as music has peaks and valleys within the waves of sound, but when the music is over, nature always has a way of beginning a new song again!" ~Alistar Valadez...
